An anti-dumping investigation is made, which means that the acrylic fibres of the three countries are subject to anti-dumping duties.
According to the Ministry of Commerce, the investigation is based on the anti-dumping investigation application formally submitted by several Chinese enterprises on behalf of the domestic acrylic fiber industry.
The application states that acrylic fibres originating in Japan, Korea and Turkey are exported to China for export at a price below normal value, and there is a "substantial dumping".
At the same time, the application also revealed that the number of imported acrylic fibers entering the Chinese market increased overall, and caused "suppression and inhibition" on the prices of similar products in the domestic industry, resulting in deterioration of the production and management indicators such as pre tax and after tax profits, investment return, operating rate, inventory, employment and financing capabilities, which caused substantial damage to the domestic industry.
The above anti-dumping investigation application was also obtained by Sinopec.

The dumping investigation period was from January 1, 2014 to December 31, 2014, and the industrial injury investigation period was from January 1, 2011 to December 31, 2014.
