Domestic Garment Manufacturing Output Growth Slowed Sharply Compared To The Same Period Last Year

The output of garment manufacturing industry dropped sharply year by year. After initial seasonal adjustment, the output of China's garment manufacturing industry in the three quarter of 2010 was 7 billion 230 million, an increase of 15.2% over the same period last year, representing a sharp decrease of 65.4 percentage points over the previous quarter, a 5.5% increase in the chain, and a 4.5 percentage point increase in the chain growth rate compared with the previous quarter.

Due to the rising price of raw materials such as cotton, linen, cocoon, wool and other textile materials, the cost pressure of garment manufacturing industry, which is mainly composed of textile fabrics, has been increasing.

In the cost of garments, cotton yarns often account for 60%-70%, and cotton prices have risen more than 30% this year. The purchasing cost of high priced raw materials has challenged the endurance of garment manufacturing enterprises.

However, under the high cost of raw materials, garment enterprises are facing a competitive market.

Due to the upward pressure on cotton prices, the downstream garment manufacturing industry has time lag, and the clothing materials in autumn and winter far exceed the summer products. The price of clothing products needs to go up.
