The Swaziland government has set up a ready made hut to attract foreign direct investment in the clothing sector.

PhiwayinkhosiGinindza, chief executive of the Swaziland Investment Promotion Council, said that the existing factory buildings were built by the government to promote industrial growth through the provision of ready-made facilities.

Offering factory shacks to investors does not charge a fee, but it can generate jobs and attract more foreign direct investment.

The Swaziland Investment Promotion Council manages these government owned factory huts.

None of the government factory huts is empty. Most of them are occupied by clothing companies. They have built manufacturing bases in Swaziland.

Ginindza said that the government's factory huts can be obtained at relatively low prices, lower than the private sector managed shanties.

The motivation for such low cost services is to increase production behavior in the country.

Ginindza also added that Swaziland benefited from the factory shanty project on the spot and greatly helped Swaziland's economy.

Compared with the shack owned by the private sector, the government's factory huts can be obtained at a low price to help Swaziland attract more investors from other countries.
