India Plans To Raise Support Price For Minimum Cotton Purchase
在纺织行业的反对声中，部分业内人士仍提议政府抬高棉花最低收购支持价格。提议指出，今年的中等级籽棉折合成皮棉价格能从2007/08年度的1990卢比提高到2030卢比，更高等级棉花从2030卢比提高到3000卢比（2500卢比收购价相当于70美分/ 磅水平）。印度棉花公司对此表示，如果收购支持价格提高，印度棉的出口价格将提高，在国际市场上其他棉花的竞争性缩小，将不利棉花出口，甚至刺激进口增加。
